Pittsburgh Pirates—PNC Park

PNC Park, overlooking the Allegheny River, is a magnificent home for the Pittsburgh Pirates. With inspired architecture, tremendous sight lines and a breathtaking city view, you couldn’t ask for a better baseball stadium. My trip, via a birthday present from my daughter and son-in-law, saw the Pirates defeat their league rival Milwaukee Brewers. Inside the park, there is not a bad seat in the house, with outstanding views of the playing field no matter where you sit. Outside the park, is a salute to the heritage of the Pirates with sculptures of Roberto Clemente, Honus Wagner, Bill Mazeroski and Willie Stargell. My favorite feature of PNC Park is that it is in the heart of Pittsburgh. After the game, we walked across Roberto Clemente bridge, which was closed to automobiles, to our downtown hotel.
